Coupler on hard line will not release so I think I need to replace the rest of the line going back to tranny. Is this a pain or would it be simpler to cut the steel line and re-flange it and replace the hose with couplers on each end?
On my 98 both lines go to the tranny cooler/radiator. The fittings suck when it comes time to disconnect. Use some parts cleaner, compressed air and pb blaster to help loosen things up You'll have to have the disconnect tool, which you can get at the parts store for around 10 bucks. I've read in some threads where guys will just cut the connector and use a hose clamp.
