Default Transmission fluid question

Hey all I recently got a 98 Cherokee and wanted to change the trandmission fluid but read up that you need to drop your transmission pan to do that. Well that's not an option for me as I have a huge skid plate that also hooks to my long arms so there's no way I can get the pan out only drain it. If I could couldn't I just get a tiny funnel and pour it down my dip stick tube to my transmission

How is that going to help you drain the fluid?

Well I can drain the fluid but I've read up that I need to drop the pan to fill it back up. And there's not enough room to drop the pan.

No, you don't "have" to drop the pan to drain and change the fluid but you Do have to drop the pan to change the filter.

sounds like you have to remove the skid plate...
OR
get yourself a small enough hose that fits down the fill tube and vacuum the fluid out.
OR
cut an access hole in the skid plate just big enough to reach the drain plug on the transmission.
OR leave it be and risk transmission damage.
OR post pictures and lets see if there is a different way.
