Unhappy Transmission died!!!

Well, we were on our way back from Port Aransas and my transmission decided to go on vacation!! Cloud of smoke trailing behind us, wouldn't shift properly, and I was trying to sleep off the night before!! So..had my buddy pull me for about 100+ miles...I had the worst hangover and I had to do the steering and breaking!!! Needless to say...I need a new transmission...total price...$850 ...AND I WAS GONNA GET MY LIFT!!!! DAMN IT!!!!

Same thing here. There goes the lift, and the tires, and the food money for the next month.

Think of it this way, its better that it happened now when you have the money rather than later when you dont have the money bc you lifted it. You cant enjoy a lift if it the jeep wont move. That does suck though. Sorry to hear that.

Probably a RC 3". But if I'm going to have to do any other modification, I might just go for a 4.5" or something.

My tranny gave out at 78,000 miles. It was 2 months after I bought it, and I had put about 2500 miles on it. My guess is that the dealer I bought it from flushed the transmission. Luckily I had a 3 month/3000 mile warranty. Only cost me $500 to have the transmission rebuilt.

You could try and go the route I went. I blew mine up in Moab back in September. Went down to the junk yard on half off day and got one. Cost me 50 bucks. Works like a champ.

Mine went just a few miles down the road (literally) from 145k, and it felt fine from what I could tell.
