Ok. I know you are thinking not another trailer hitch post. This is not that. I was wondering is there a way to mount a trailer hitch and cover it with the stock bumper and add d ring tabs?

What you really want is a replacement bumper with the hitch receiver built into the bumper ala JCR Offroad DIY kit. I made my own by kinda sorta copying from their design ;-)

Just use the stock HD receiver hitch with the D-Ring receiver to go in it and don't worry about covering it.
If you buy an aftermarket bumper they have them built-in for the D-Rings and I have one for my receiver hitch that is built into the bumper also. That gives me 3 points on the rear bumper to hook to when winching. Just make sure the hitch is a HD one to begin with.

I'm sure it's possible but unless you can weld/fabricate I'm sure it'd be cheaper to just buy an aftermarket bumper and ditch the tin can.. I mean stock bumper.

I can't think of any way to cover it with a stock bumper. Besides that not being a very good idea as when winching you sometimes drag the bottom of the hitch a lot and if the bumper were hiding it I would think it could easily be torn up/off.

Thanks, you would have to make a completely new hitch, make mounts with some heavy rectangular tubing with nuts welded or a nutstrip inside the tubing. Those would be the mounts, welded to both ends of the main hitch beam, and they would slide inside each uniframe rail. Then use the factory hitch mounting holes to bolt down the tubing. Make any sense yet? Lol and then, figure out some brackets to Mount the bumper back into stock location.
