Question track bar question

So I've read other threads on here and other websites but still haven't found the right answer I'm looking for. I am going to be installing a rusty's 3.5 lift kit in the next couple days and am concerned about my stock track bar. I am going to pick up a set of 31/10.50r15 bf goodrich a/ts tomorrow and my wheels have 4.25 backspacing. I want to know if I can keep the track bar in it's stock hole and if not how much do I need to move it over? I will eventually get an adjustable but being a college student I need to watch my spendings and save up for another day. Thank you for all your help this forum keeps my jeep moving and me busy on the free days.

You will probably need about 1/2in to drill over. Best to install everything, with TB disconnect at axle and jeep on the ground it will settle itself center. Then you can mock the tracbar up to see where you want to drill.

BTW, I was on a stock trackbar in this picture. Never had a death wobble issue or negative effects other that binding when flexing

Yeah i did mine 1/2 inch over and got it aligned and its perfect!! Need new tires now but moving the TB helped a ton. If you move the original TB over you shouldnt have to worry about an adjustable one cause you fixed the problem.

Boost Happy: Are your sway bars gone/ disco'd? clearly the front but what about the rear?

No sway bars front or rear at all. Don't recommend with light spring rates. My front rates are 200lb

I got a rusty's 3.5" off craigslist from a guy who had it on for a year before he got into a fender bender that bent the front drivers side frame. The coils on mine say Rusty's 300 so i'm guessing mine are 300lb rate. I plan on taking the rear sway bar out but in the future get quick disconnects

No, it wont be 300lb, that would be insane lol. Rustys are usually around 180lb, That the softest I personally would be safe driving with out sway bars, just be aware that 180# will still be soft enough if you steer to avoid something, drive like an ***, or haul *** on highway ramps, theres a higher risk of flopping your Jeep.

Well since i'm not an idiot and don't drive like a mad man I don't have to worry about that. I have an 88' that i love so I drive it like a baby never flooring it at red lights, never slamming on the brakes, or even getting the rpms past 2500

Why would you drill another hole making the bracket weaker. Do it correctly by getting an adjustable tb.

Drilling it is just fine. The bracket is not going to fall apart over a second hole. But don't over size the whole, movement will cause death wobble

I was looking at my track bar today and it seems that the plate that the track bar is mounted to is on the passenger side. Should I be drilling into the plate a 1/2" to the left (passenger side) or the right (driver's side)

Thank you so much! I had found another instruction site but the pictures were far and not the best could barely make it out. These are clear and close
