If you have a 4.0 it would generally be considered 5,000 pounds when properly equipped. There are some restrictions as far as frontal area of the trailer, but most travel trailers less than 5,000 loaded would be fine. They are great for towing boats and small enclosed storage trailers. I tow a 6'x12', and it does really well. Properly equipped would include the proper hitch along with a transmission cooler at the very least.
