So I recently totalled my XJ and am now looking to invest in a new one and this came up:

Going to check it out this week and possibly pick up this weekend and then swap the axles and lift it.

Thoughts/opinions on the chop-top/pickup style cherokees?

I would go for it. Would get a 97+ hatch and finish the job right. I will never do a nother 4-door. But that's because I did one. Chop tops are sweet no matter what though. There was a guy on Pirate who had a sweet one until it became a buggy.

 

Funny you say that, my newly totaled baby is a '97, now a part *****. What do you mean by finish the job right?
