Glad to hear your daughter is okay. A car can always be replaced, she can't.

I have a question though, was the front sway bar connected at the time of the accident?

Yes the front sway bar was connected.

Here are a few pictures of the damage. Once I got it home and really got a good look, it's worse than I thought and really worse than the pics show. Lots of damage and the body is actually twisted.

Would have been a head on if my daughter hadn't seen it coming and reacted as fast as she did. She was mostly off the road when the impact happened.

Drivers side door no longer opens. And the opening isn't square anymore obviously, we can see intot he can at the top between the door and the jam.

Shack was crushed and the axle slammed into the gas tank.

That last one is the filler piece between the hood and grill. It snapped in two from the twisting of the impact.

I know some of yall are going to say it doesn't look that bad and it can be fixed but like I said, the pictures do not really show the extent of damage. Plus, it had 242,344 miles on it. The 2.5liter 4 cylinder and was 2 wheel drive. I hate to say it but, cost wise, it really isn't cost effective to fix it. That kills me because I have had this Cherokee for a long, long time and I loved it, but I think this did her in.

From this angle, she still looks pretty good except you can see that rear wheel cocked off at an angle.

Sorry to hear that. Glad your daughter was OK. I just sent through a wreck in January i had my 1 yo daughter with me. the what ifs will drive you crazy.

As for the condition of the jeep. I would say it wouldn't be fit for a DD but I see no reason why you couldn't hack it up cage it out and wheel it if you wanted. You won't get much money if you sell it or part it out might as well have some fun with it.

How's the insurance claim going? The guy that hit me had USAA they totaled it out. Repair estimate was $4500+ , valued my jeep at $1879, charged me ~$300 to buy it back. I bought a 99 for $1300. And now I'm in the process of repairing the totaled 91. So I came out not too bad. Hope it goes well.

The claim is just in the beginning stages. The adjuster came out yesterday and took pictures and wrote up his stuff. He is an independent adjuster so he said it would be a few days before USAA (the other drivers insurance company) got the report but he said he's seen a lot of wrecks and he's sure they will total it just going by the age and the amount of miles on it. That's what I expected.

We are putting together examples of similar '94 Cherokee's with similar amount of miles and printing them all out so I can have plenty of ammo when the insurance company offers me some low ball amount. I can then show them a stack of Cherokees for sale and their prices and say "This is what it will cost me to replace it. Give me this much."

We'll see how it goes. I'll let yall know any updates.

This Cherokee was my daily driver for 9 years. Loved every second behind the wheel. I'm going to miss it but I'd miss my daughter a lot more. Just so glad she was paying attention and that she's a good driver.
