Wondering if anyone knows what the XJ will do? I've gotta 95 sport and can bury it on 85 with no problem at all.

Only if it's downhill lol 1/4 mile is way too short to get to top speed

 

depends on your gears/tires. On 235's my little 4 banger pulled the jeep to about the M in MPH, which i guess is about 115?

 

My speedometer stops at 85 and I've only gotten it past that once just to see the needle go all the way down, i know i was in the 90s but not sure the exact number

 

I got a ticket a few years back for 117 in an 80 running stock 3.54 gears with 33's..... and I KNOW I had atleast another 10 or 15mph to go before I had her to the floor.....

 

I clocked mine at 112, thanks to GPS.

 

every xj ive owned would cut out at 105.

eh maybe it was a little higher than 105. these pics are taken right when the governor kicks in. (scares the **** out of you when you feel it)

with the gears and tires i am actually going slower than my speedometer reads.

with 5.38's and 35s i top out at about 91 mph. with 37's at about 97 mph.

(speeds were achieved on a closed course by a professional driver, do not try this at home)
