Default Is this too much to pay for an XJ? Looking to buy my first one, need advice

Hey everyone, I just went and looked at a Cherokee tonight. They are asking $5000. Has a 6000 winch, 6 inch lift with quick disconnects, 33" tires on eagle alloys, roof rack. Engine has 122,000 miles on it and body has normal dings and dents from wheeling. Oil pressure gauge doesnt work is the only problem with it. KBB says its worth around $3200 but with all the extra stuff on it I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it is worth it or not. Thanks for the help everyone!

To me upgrades do not really add to the value. Its just a sign the previous owner took it wheeling and beat on it. Or it would seem so in this case...(dings and dents)

What year is the XJ?

It seems steep, and a 6000# winch is under powered.

The more it's built the more potential problems it may have. Oil pressure gauge not working ain't good. The rear main seal is a problem with the 4 banger so be weiry. It doesn't really count for so much the upgrades. The upgraded mine came with book value are more than my jeep itself is worth.

the winch is under powered so basically useless, the quality of the lift and the components will determine how much value they add, how much tread is left on the tires? if those are going thats easily $500 more if you went used. is it geared or locked? only good thing i see is the year and the miles it has. other than that, seems like a pretty steep price

Too much, as stated before, lifts and crap like that don't really add to the value, it's just some eye candy to help it sell.

I'm with all these guys. Most people who upgraded their jeeps and are selling them are usually beat. Get a stock one and build it yourself.

Yeah, unfortunately the money I put into my jeep, I would never expect to get any of it back... Economy sucks and people research kbb nowadays... I don't think its worth it... And a 6000# winch... Was that for an atv? Lol...
