Anyone have any opinions or experience on super swamper ltb-bias (31")

 

Got a buddy that runs the 34s which are closer to 33. He loves them and they are great in mud and rocks, not so good on the street but what bias swamper is?

 

Not sure what that is. Is ltb a bias?

 

Swampers are good but as mentioned not to great on street

 

Do they have a long tread life with that huge tread?

 

Yes LTB is a bias, you even say so in the first post, and no the tread life isn't great. Bias tend to have a softer tread and wear faster.

 

my radials lasted a long time and I love them (they are down to 3/32's so soon to be replaced)

Great in the rocks and great in the rocks, good in sand and loose dirt, wet pavement can interesting but I have only ever had 1 issue

 

Would an all terrain tire with shorter tread depth have a similar tread life compared to a mud terrain with longer tread depth?

 

Hard to say because no two brands will wear the same. If you want something that will go more than 25k stay away from most swampers especially bias, radials do a little better.

 

I agree with 96_xj. Great to have but can be tricking on wet pavement

 

Think of them as a big marshmallow, great in mud/rocks/ect, but poor street
wear/performance. Probably not the greatest if your rig is a DD

 

If it's going to see a lot of pavement then no. If it's trailered to the trails or maybe even a short ride then go for it. The traction is great. I wanted to get them for my jeep also but mine is a DD so I might end up with the TSL radials. I'm still waiting to see how they are doing on my neighbors truck before I make a decision.

 

Alright yea, my rig is definitely a dd so I'm thinking about going with some radials or other mud terrins. Thanks for all the help guys.
