Default thinking for a while

I have been wanting to do a rear disc conversion from a grand cherokee on the back of my xj for a while. I found a complete rear axle with any accompanying parts I may need for the swap for $150. Seeing how I only need the backing plates, calipers, hardware, and brake cable. How much would the center section of this axle be worth? I could get all the parts I need at a jy but jeeps at jy's around Knoxville get stripped fast, and working and school full time leaves little time to get to one. Bottom line do you all think $150 is a good deal for the axle?

if it's a chrysler 8.25 axle like the one in yours (was just looking at your stats). If it's the Dana 35 in the grand, I don't think they'll work, and you'd be looking for a jeep liberty with the chrysler 8.25 for those parts.

correct some minor modifications to the backing plates have to been made but other than that they should bolt up. My buddy swapped his off a 98 Grand Cherokee

to be exact a spacer would have to be made and the bolt holes welded and re-drilled. Liberty's being parted out are hard to find

I've actually been looking into this myself and though that this was a pretty good write-up.

so they will work on an 8.25?

I just talked to my friend and he said he had swapped his rear to a dana 44 hence the reason I thought they fit. And I was just about to post that I was an idiot....lol
