Start out with the Putco wiring harness upgrade first.
I got my HID Projectors from NorCalMR2.com, damn near plug and play.
Way better than having to buy tons of different pieces, making your own, and dealing the that headache.

I bought mine off of ebay as a complete kit for 85 bucks. But make sure you get projector housings. I got the cheap regular ones and they work good, but not as great as projectors would.

There is no relay in the OEM system. The headlight switch there in the dash takes alot of abuse because of this, and many people have trouble with the headlight switch failing or burning up.
The harness actually adds in relays and better wiring, taking virtually all the load off the headlight switch.
It should have come this way from the factory.
