Default thinking about buying 1990 jeep

I am looking at picking up a 1990 jeep cherokee inline 6, 5spd, it has about 260000 miles. I am just looking at picking it up for a off road vehicle and sometimes drive around town and to work. It already has a little lift with some wheel and tires along with bumpers. The inside is a little rough looking but not to bad. Anyone have any advice if this would be a good idea and what you think i should pay for this jeep?
thanks

$700 or pass
never trust a 'modified' jeep. you never know the quality of install or how hard it was beat on
and these things do go up high in miles.. but buying one thats already over 250k would be too much for me

If it runs good and looks as good as it does in the phot then I would pay up to $2,600

Good luck

I have talked him down to about 2000 and he is getting it smogged as well, the underside like the shocks and couple other things have a little rust but not to much to worry about i dont think, just want to make sure that you guys dont think i am paying to much or have something to worry about when buying something like this.

If you're looking for a weekend wheeler and considering this one, I think the most important thing to watch for is that the Axles are good. I ended up with a 2001 XJ, Anti Lock Brakes, & D35 rear axle. It's gonna cost me more money to swap everything out than it would have look harder and longer..... just my $.02. It looks good in the Pics.....

How can i tell what axels it has in it? The rack looks nice in the picture but whoever built it had no idea how to weld so the bumpers are good but the rack looks like someone pooped on all the welds

I think thats what the other guys were making fun of

as far as buying an already 'built' rig goes,
just keep in mind that no one sells their well-built rig with no problems just because they dont want it anymore. he's selling it for a reason. it's got issues
if reliability is not an issue for you then that's the jeep for you
