I just can't stand every time I go to the parts store.

after I say the part and 97 cherokee xj, the answer is always

"is that the grand cherokee"

(in my head, where do these people come from, were you put here to **** me off )

 

See, I can understand why they ask that but if I come in and say 4.0 straight 6 MPI 01 Cherokee than I know what I'm talkin about that's when it kills me when they ask "is that a grand Cherokee"

 

Being a safari looking xj, I always get..... Do u think you are Indiana jones? Is this a jurrassic park jeep? Is that a land rover? What is that gas can for? Are you ready for the zombie takeover, or an apocalypse? You are stupid. Do u take that off road? Why would you take the doors off? What are those cables for? And my favorite..... What does that safari snorkel do?

 

i work at pep boys( service not retail) and when i go in and get a part for my jeep they ask " grand or regular" just cause they know it gets me mad

 

Your favorite one should be, whats the gas can for.

I laughed at that one.

The gas one is also self explanatory.....DAs. Thanks, it has evolved in one year, now I'm ready for an OME lift.

* going through a junkyard looking for random parts, spot something u need, and the worker points and says * " while ur at it, might as well grab these battery terminals, they are in pretty good shape. " ( picture below )


this didnt happen, but if i ever caught a junkyard worker turning salesman on bad parts like this, id have to smack em!

 

i know this one gets said a lot, but this one takes the cake

went to the jeep stealership to get a part. i walk up to a service tech and say this verbatim: "i need an oil pressure sending unit for a 2001 jeep cherokee, 242 4 liter inline 6"

his reply: "is it a grand cherokee?"



REALLY?!?!?! i give you all that info and you still think maybe i have a grand cherokee?!?!


i just stood and looked at him for a second....because i was literally speechless

 

I think I'm lucky. Only ever got the grand question once, and that was at vato zone. The guy I go to at Advance drives an XJ, and the guys at napa don't assume everyone is a moron.

 

I recently got the is it a grand thing. My reply: well I think its pretty dam nice but I don't know if id call it grand the guy just didn't know what the h*** to say and the other 3 guys at the counter were just laughing their butts off at him. I was parked right in front of the door and the only customer in the store. Priceless

 

I hate that grand thing. But another thing not to say to an xj owner... why did you lift your jeep... only pick up trucks should be lifted... ah excuse me but the xj will out wheel the pu anyday of the week.
