I seem overly sensitive to any references of KL and Cherokee in the same sentence.

My all over fave is "Get that lifted station wagon out of the mud hole" then usually it's my lifted wagon that most of the (hard core) guys ask to help when they get stuck.

 

Person: "Is it lifted?'
Me: "Yea, it has a 2 inch lift"
Person: "OOOhh body lift... gotcha"
Me: "No." *drives off*

Just look at craigslist and see all the "Cherokee's" listed that are really grands..

It upsets US because we KNOW the difference...but BILLY BOB does not.

LOLOLOL my other ride is a '13 crew cab 4wd Silverado lifted 9 inches with 35 inch tires... I can not tell you HOW MANY FREAKING TIMES someone asks me "what kind of gas mileage you get?" I DONT!!!

What is the point of that question? Does it look like that is what I'm after? Do I drive a Prius?

Even though the XJ really is a station wagon

 

I don't get why its not considered a compact SUV. But whenever people call it a station wagon they get an arrogant tone in their voice and think that automatically their 8 inch body lifted, chromed out, disposable truck with platinum spinners on 20 inch chrome rims is more capable than my rig, just because its considered a "station wagon."

 

It's not a station wagon, it's a "shooting brake". It's a much more accurate description of the body style and purpose of an XJ.

Plus, when they kinda mean the same thing, shooting brake just sounds better.

 

Just put $200 on the dash and tell him that your station wagon will out wheel him anyway if he'll put it on a trail.

 

Yeah that station wagon thing stopped bothering me one day when a deputy pulled over a chevy suburban (I'm a dispatcher by the way) and when I ran the tag, it came back "BODY STYLE: SW" for station wagon... then I was like, ok whatever, it's just a stupid generalization then.
