Heard this from a buddy with a TJ the other day...
"There's Jeeps, then the rest of you guys with your wagons."
My response: "So tell me, how often has your TJ on 35's seen anything but pavement?"
He was quiet after that.

 

Pavement pounding credit card cowboys! I had one of em look at my 78 CJ5 at the gas station and tell me "Why don't I get a real Jeep" I replied "This is a real Jeep. It says AMC not made in Mexico or China like yours!" He just stopped laughing and drove off.

 

I never tell someone that, if they wanna come, they can. Hell, I'll let a prius try to hit a trail with me if they think they can.

 

I know, they'll get stuck cuz I know the trail and the trucks they're taking. They'll get stuck and call and ill pick em up but make em pay for being ********...

 

Ha ha! I love this! Only thing is this Cherokee IS my "nice" truck! Yes, even at 11 years old, my jeep is much nicer than my 20 year old bronco I just ditched.

had a guy one time say " haha , cant even haul your 4wheeler around " i said with a straight face "dont need one.. its a jeep".. guy didnt respond lol

 

I was at a pretty famous 4X4 shop in Ogden, Utah getting a set of leaf springs for my XJ a couple weeks ago, and I was asked, "Is it a Grand or regular?" I almost said something, but just let it go. I mean, come on, if the guy new anything about Jeeps he would not have asked, since they were "leaf" springs! I feel really sorry about parts-jockeys that know nothing about what they are selling.

 

I will have to remember that one. There are dozens of H2s and H3s running around here, that I KNOW have never seen a trail.

 

I was at the auto parts store (or called them, can't remember) and was looking for parts for my t-case. Told the guy it was for a 2000 Jeep Cherokee 4.0L. Then he proceeds to ask if it is 2wd or 4wd. Sometimes I have to work really hard not to get sarcastic with people and act in a more Christ-like way instead of being a bigger jerk than they are an idiot.

 

No offense to some of our members but that's why they work at a parts store and not in the shop.

 

But sometimes you get more knowledgeable people working at the parts store than shops. The guys at NAPA here in town know their stuff.
Particularly dealerships, one of my brother's coworkers at Toyota has been responsible for two destroyed engines in the last 6 months. Why they haven't fired him, I can't say.

 

That truck is a waste of money and time, sell it
