These XJ's are somewhat of a PIA to take apart.

It was a 1957 Plymouth Savoy flat head 6 rust bucket complete with the push button transmission shifter.
Had it re-painted black by Earl Scheib which then became known as the 'bat mobile' by my friends.

My first car while in high school. A hand me down from my father when he bought a another family car.

Kinda the red headed step child to the legendary Hudson Hornet. The first year for AMC and the last for the Wasp.
Current ride is an 89 Cherokee and the last year for AMC
Still remember those commercials

Sorry, just spent 45 min trying to figure out HOW the heck to disconnect the main wire harness going through the fire wall, moved the fuse block out of the way, I see a bolt in the center coming from the engine compartment side. ZERO access on the engine bay side,, and this is with the engine removed!!!

But really,, this is NOTHING like working on a late 60's early 70's muscle car.
If someone had not told me it was a 1/4 head on the hidden bolt,, it would never have come off. that connector and a few other things are major "**** poor designs"
