Can you change the function of this? I took off the plastic piece covering it and saw some things that I've never seen lit up. What does "comp." mean. I've tried holding it down and other things but when I press it it just turns the entire thing off. Nothing wrong with it, just had this jeep (94 xj 4.0 country) for a while with out knowing.

Comp means compass I believe...mine doesnt work so cant be sure...could also mean mileage computer

nope, those old ones are pretty simple. the comp/temp button just turns the display on or off, and the us/metric button is pretty obvious as well. compass and outside temp are the only two functions.

suggestion on that is to remove the old caps off the board and replace them i am glad to see one working but then aging i bought 2 of them and they do not work because of the caps busted on the board (working on cleaning them now and get it working aging i hope
