Default Techno Tire Review

Thought I would do an update of my tires. A lot of people have been asking about them so here goes.

Techno Excavators.http://www.technopneu.com/

Size on tire 32 10.5 16. Actual size mounted is about 33".

When I saw these tires I had to have them. Copied no doubt from Simex extreme trekkers. Europe's number one off road comp tire.

Very agressive, like a bogger. They are radials, Dot approved, and they are re-moulds. Not re-treads. The whole outer carcass is a new tire.

2ply sidewalls 6ply tread. But in my opinion they are at least 4ply sidewalls. The tire under neath is 2ply. Anyways, tough as nails. 50 mph speed rating.

Picture of the tire new.

Picture today with 3500 miles on them next to a new 34 10.5 tsl ltb.

I really can't even measure any ware. Which is great.

As you can see they are barely an inch smaller in diameter than the 34 tsl's. And that is with the weight of the jeep on them.

So the review......

I have had many tires. 3 different sets of swampers, BFG's, Goodyear, Truxus, Firestone, etc.....

On road. Well i know they are rated at 50 mph. But they are on my daily driver. I often run 70mph. No problems at all. They float just a bit, and they howl. But being this aggressive that is expected. On wet pavement they are fine.

Off road. Pretty much as close to a tractor tire as you can get. They really tread lightly. As in you can go through areas and never spin a tire. Really amazing in this regard. In deep mud they are every bit as good as my tsl's. Rocks they really do well. I have done several rock climbs and they work much better than the tsl for comparison. ON the trail is where they shine. They just crawl up creek banks and on wet trails especially. Much better than a TSL in my opinion. Hands down the best off road tire I have owned. And I thought my federals were pretty good. These are night and day better than any mud terrain I have ran.

They are available in the states for around 170 / tire. It does take some research. But these tires I am actually seeing more of. For an off road monster of a tire at 33". This tire is the one to get. Its meant for just about anything you can throw at it.

A few more photos.

So there isn't any water siping? I sure as hell wouldn't run them above the 50 mph rating.

I took them on the freeway doing 70 for 2 hrs each way. Not even warm. No issues.

We had down pours this week, never hydroplaned or did not feel unredictable at all.

Like I said, its my daily driver and I run them above 50 constantly. Not telling anyone to do this. But this is my review.

I had a set of 34" ltb's. Brand new. Took a trip with them and one of the tires belts came apart. They are rated higher for speed. but both of these tires are basically off road tires. I don't care, so I have them on my DD

Also I might add that they hold a bead great. I run them at 12 off road. Never a problem. Have been as low as 7psi and managed to jam a log into the bead a few times, but never enough to let air out. Some tires wont hold a bead at 15psi.

Most mud tires I've had didn't have any siping. Even the BFGs I have now don't have siping.
I would be a little concerned about why they are only rated to 50 mph though.

I'd like to try out a set of these on the trails, but I can't find them anywhere local and can't find anyplace online to order them from. Guess I won't get to try them

These are the certified "green" tires right? Recycled material if I remember correctly.

What about on road steering feel? With tread that thick, did the wheel go a bit numb, firm up, or did it stay about the same in comparison to the more conventional mud terrain such as the TSL?

It firmed up a bit. I had a little DW before. But not since i installed these tires. They float just a little on the road. But not as bad as my tsl's.

THey are green tires. The inner carcass is an old tire. The outer shell is new. Which makes a durable tire off road.

Honestly they are for people who just want performance off road. They seem to be wearing great though.

The best way to get them is to go to the main web page and check for dealers. If you just google you wont find much.

I am trying to get our shop to carry them. They are mail order.
