Will the ford taurus electric fan fit in the same location as the stock electric fan on the xj with the 4.0. Reason I am asking is that my electric fan crapped out on me and I would like to replace it with a better fan. I still have the stock mechanical fan which works fine and would really like to upgrade the electric fan with something else.

Or what other options would I have for electric fans?

I have installed several of these on our SAR trucks this month. I also put one on my 87 chevy pickup and tonight I put one on my 88 cherokee. I installed it upside down to clear the PS box. I kept the old pulley the mech fan blade was on. I pulled the studs and install very short bolts and had no other clearence issues.
I did run a constant duty relay, 80 amp. It looks like a winch/ford starter relay. Ran it to a switch in the jeep and it works perfect.

Taurus fans are a popular upgrade, but you need one from a 90-95 (I think) Taurus/Sable/Continental with the 3.8 engine (not the 3.0)
