Taking thermal mats out before painting?
Hey guys, finally getting around to painting the floor in the XJ after dealing with replacing a floor panel. My question is should I remove those silver thermal mats before painting?
I'm just going to Rustoleum Spray Prime/Paint the floors. I know the XJ has a few of those silver thermal barriers around the floor and the big one in the trunk area.
Should I leave them? Or take them out? Or paint the floor and put some new thermal mat things over the same spots. My biggest concern of course is rust prevention but at the same time don't want the XJ to become more of an oven haha.
Don't wanna mess this job up Thanks!
