Default T-Case -or- Not

I have been saving up my money to buy a np241or t-case havent really found one BUT... i would also like to 5-speed swap my xj...now i have been dealing with a guy for a potential t-case but he has been diddling around for three weeks and doesn't trust meeting alone so he is bringing his cop buddy even though i offered more than what he is asking and he wants a down payment two days before we meet??? wth....i am calling a high rated jy today to see if they still have one i got a tip from someone

but anyways theres a full complete 5-speed cherokee on cl for $1100 or best offer with salvage title i am thinking $800 five speed stuff and other misc. parts...

What To Do???

Well if the salvage cherokee that's 5-speed is 4 wheel drive then you get both. 5-speed & NP231 T-case. So I'd probably go that route. This other guy seems like a A hole to be dealing with. There is no way I would put money down on something to someone I don't know on a product that is used and have no idea if it even works correctly.

so you're looking for a 241 t-case out of a rubicon?
these can get quite expensive.

i would much rather find a d300 and do a doubler set up. will cost about the same (if you have a 231 now) and you get a much lower crawl ratio. plus it's a heck of a lot cooler to have 3 t-case shifters.

ditch the guy with the cop buddy. seems like he's only trying to gain your trust just so he can rip you off.

My bad sorry,...... You were looking for a NP241 T-case. I read the post to fast and assumed it said NP231 T-case. Still either way I say ditch the other guy with the cop buddy trying to sell you his T-case. Seems like more of a headache messing around with him.
