Default Surco Rack Question

Alright, so I've been looking into getting a roof rack the past few weeks and I've pretty much made up my mind to get a Surco 40x50 rack. I know it's cheaper to build your own but I just don't have the time or tools necessary to do it so here I am.

To stay on point, my question is, if I get this rack:
Amazon.com: Surco S4050 40" x 50" Safari Rack: Automotive Amazon.com: Surco S4050 40" x 50" Safari Rack: Automotive
will I also have to get the gutter mounts as well? Or should I be okay to just mount it right on the rails?

I have a 99 sport if that matters at all. Here's a pic http://s1330.photobucket.com/user/dh...478e5.png.html

Thanks in advance!

Dang nothing? I know there's probable a bunch of threads but I figured I'd just make my own. Any input would be helpful!

Gutter mounts would be stronger and just look better IMHO.

For $100 more you can get a rack that is 72" x 48" and downsizes to 48" x 48".
Complete with gutter mounts.

i had 2-300lbs on my old surco with factory rail mounts without a problem. either mount would be fine, gutter is technically stronger.

I don't know anything about the surco rack but was about to order one from JCR and was unsure about mounting to the gutters because I don't have roof mounts. Makes me feel a little better about the strength.

That's the one I want. Did you make that cargo net thing that's in the back of your Jeep?

Hmm my factory rails feel weak and are all wobbly. Guess it just depends on the individual xj.
