Sunroof
Hey there,
new to the forum, just bought my first jeep. 1998 Cherokee sport 194k for $650. Tree fell on it and smashed in the sunroof, peeled over the metal lip on the passenger door so that doesn't open right now, knocked passenger mirror loose, and peeled the top of the right rear passenger door back about 3 inches from the frame. Anyways I can fix everything else on my own but I wanted some suggestions as what to do with the sunroof. The glass isn't easy to come by so right now I'm thinking of filling it in(unless you know where I can get some glass for semi-cheap). Don't know exactly how to do this though. Any input appreciated thanks!!

Call or find a local plate gas company and have them cut you a piece. I did this for my chop top model T truck. Cost me 40 per pane. Just a suggestion or maybe go to a junkyard with some measurements and see if you can cross one from another vehicle.

If its in a 98 its it some type of aftermarket roof. I have installed them for years. You call mid michigan automotive in lansing 517-272-7500 ask for jimmy he can help you out. There are places in grand rapids and Ionia, just find somewhere that installs aftermarket moonroofs and sunroofs in car and trucks for new car dealers

But I just got back from my mechanic buddies house and he fixed both doors and a couple other minor things. Now I just need a new passenger mirror and a sunroof. My mechanic suggested putting plexi glass in and sealing it real good. I think I will go that route since is would be less likely to leak.
I will post some pictures after work tomorrow but there isnt much to see now that he fixed it.
Also I will call the place in Lansing just to see what kind of numbers they are talking about.
Thanks!!!!

Called jimmy now that I have the model number and he thinks he has some glass for it!!! Sweet going to check it out tomorrow on lunch to see what he wants for it and make sure it fits. If not I found a piece online for $90 shipped.
