sunk my xj PLEASE help me :'(
i know all of you want to see pictures so here you go http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?...00000494102708
well i went to rancho in zhills for the first time all was going well till we went in water that was even with the headlights.
some nice guy pulled me out and another person with a really nice 1500 pulled me to the road so i could call AAA. my respect for chevy went up today.
175 dollars later we got it to my house and it still wont start.
it has a after market alarm (python) and it must have shorted out and will not turn off.
we changed all the plugs and got most of the water out of the engine. it still turns by hand. we changed the stater and it was filled with water but that didnt help.
thinking there is something electric thats stopping it from starting.
please help me out any way you can thanks

was it running and then sucked water into the intake.
If the water was at headlight level it is safe to say the motor could be water logged. I would start tearing it down to dry it out. do not try to start it until you are certain all the water is out. You will do additional damage. I know water logging a motor usually requires atleast compressed air through the plug wholes and removing the oil pan,
Pulling plugs will not do *sh#t.
Not to be smart, but stay out of any water holes that you are not sure about, because now you are in a world of *****. oh and buy a snorkle kit and water proof your distributor.
If all suspected water dammage is proved to be a non issue, then yes you have an electrical. that is another show.

More info! Like does it turn over, are the plugs getting spark, what about fuel, does the alarm system have a shut down mod, have you disconnected the alarm?
The more info the better chance of finding what is wrong.

the starter engages. we got all the water out. but the python is keeping it from starting i think.
there is a reset button but it doesn't do anything.
does anyone know how to disable to take out a python alarm ?

Keep changing it. If the oil is just running off the stick and is still watery change it out before you get her running again.
This is what ur gonna have to do. figure out what this alarm imobilizes an disconnect it. Trace the wirring and disconnect it from any system its controlling. I don't have any experience with this particular brand of alarm, but its still uses a basic function to control fuel and or the starter. it apears that in this case its controling the fuel an dthe ignition.so i would start there.
hopes atleast points you in the right direction. Just to remind you. you don't have all the oil out if its still showing up on the dip-stick.

I will keep you guys updated.
Btw I took out the ecm and it was wet but I'm letting it dry out.
Not really a concern right now but I got the seats and carpet out cleaned them and they look good.
No water inside vacumed it all out and cleaned it.
Ill prob get undercoat and put it inside, cheaper then rhino liner
