Submerged and transmission problems
I have a 2000 jeep cherokee sport straight 6 4.0l. The other day I got it submerged. I drove it back home about 10 miles(knowing it probably wasn't good) I have flushed the engine oil trans case and transmission a few times and it seems to be clean now(they all took on quite a bit of water)...but it starts right up now. My problem is now when I put it in drive it barely has any power. Seems to have full power in reverse and seems to be fine in D 1-2 but when I put it in just drive the power is very limited, just enough to get it to start moving and I have to really give it gas for it to move.( I was told that it could be spark plugs and wires because they were probably submerged too) but I want to get a better opinion from someone. Is the transmission junk now? Or is there something else I need to do? And is changing the spark plugs and wires the possible answer? I'm just a little lost and would like to get a better opinion before jumping into things. PLEASE HELP
