Okay, Okay...I know. Why would anyone want to keep their Jeep stock? I assure you, it's not by choice in my case. Guess I have to sell some other toys to be able to do some much wanted upgrades. But ya got to luv it when you find a jewel in the rough as I lucked into, One Thursday night while at work, after a 3 month effort, I did my usual local Jeep search on CL. This 99' popped up, for only $1800. just posted an hour before. I replied to it ASAP, and was able to make an appointment to see it the next evening. After coming back from Sacto earlier that day from looking at a lifted 89' Cherokee, but it needed a clutch slave cylinder, I had to pass on it. I'm soo glad I did, because after seeing this 99', I was in love. I test drove it and barely heard some rear end noise, but it was a solid vehicle: Freeway driven all its life, (high miles 253K) NEVER off roaded. Its really nice, inside and out. They accepted my offer of $1550. and now I am a very happy Red Jeep Cherokee owner! Woo Hoo!

Nice! I saw that one on CL. Glad someone on here grabbed it. My 98 is completely stock and I don't plan on changing it. It's my DD.

I feel like I hit the lottery, seriously! This 'Cherishme' is a truly wonderful vehicle. I'm so glad i set my mind to acquiring one. My diligence sure paid off. I've been doing some research and had no idea over 3 million were made from 84-01. It's no wonder the vast array of parts and aftermarket modifications that are available. I am stoked at all the possibilities. Now, the 1st thing I'm after are some nice rims and tires....
I must say, this Jeep is soo nice, I really don't want to do very much to it if anything. Maybe I should start a group for all the stock owners.....how about the 'Stock As A Rock Club'?

Here it is! Tried to start a 'Stock as a Rock Club' Group, but it must be disabled for me, guess 'cause I'm such a newbie.

There is nothing wrong with being stock as a rock. My 2001 is stock because its 98% on the street. I personally see no reason to modify other then what I like. I added leather interior, 15x8 wrangler wheels that are powder coated, a brush guard for the pedestrians lol, all while getting 23 MPG and at projected $5.00 a gallon this summer ill be happy. Yes those are firehawk Indy 500 tires on a Cherokee and they do make a comfy ride.
You have a awesome looking jeep and I'm very jealous

Most definitely a new set of rims and tires. These rims, the paint is peeling. I saw those powder coated rims like mine, That might be cool. The longer I have this Jeep, the more I'm liking the stock look for it though. I'm beginning to think I don't want to touch this one lift wise. this one is just too dang nice. Maybe that's why I'm still cruising CL to find one I can toy around with. Maybe pass this one to the wife, and get her out of her 73' Bug.
As far as starting a Group, I have read the FAQ, and it says there should be a 'Start a Group' button in the group section. I can only assume, that because I am newbie status, that option must not be available to me. Maybe you have to be a paid subscriber. Maybe one of you 'Higher Ups' could help a guy out a start the "Stock As A Rock Jeep Club" for us.... I will maintain it, if someone would start it up....thx.
