Still on my quest to buy a Cherokee, Sadly..the very first one I looked has been the best deal I have found so far…That deal fell through after the seller fell off the radar after I agreed to his asking price and telling me he’d call me to arrange when I could pick it up…?????

Yesterday looked at an 20001 Sport at a small local dealer...112,000 miles..pw/pl/pm/ac/tilt/keyless entry/alloy wheels/new tires/new brakes/front end alignment...runs/drives great...very clean in and out..1 owner...price is 5000 firm..

I'm looking for a DD...This is about a grand more than I wanted to spend...Does it seem like a good deal? I'm having reservations about it due to the fact that anything I bought, I was planning on lifting 3 inches and adding some larger tires...Because of the higher price than I was planning on...and that fact the tires are brand new...it would be hard for me to justify the upgrade for quite awhile if I buy this one...Unless this would be considered a really good a deal...I'm probably leaning toward passing on it...Any thoughts?...Thanks..again

for a 2001 from a dealer that is a good price but have you looked at craigs list and on ebay or any other car sales mags like auto trader. i see hundreds of them around here for any where from 1000 to 8000 bucks depending on year and mileage

 

Yes, I've mainly been lookng on craigslist for about 2 months now...usually 2-3 times a day...They seem to go pretty fast around my parts...Last one that looked like a good deal the other day I saw posted about 11:00 am...I called on my lunch break to make arrangements to go look at it after work...The guy called me at 4:00 pm and told me it was sold.....

I'm trying to stay within about 30 miles of where I live now..I'm always upfront asking about the condition of the vehicle..and if it's over 30 miles miles away, I'll mention the fact that I'll be driving quite a distance to look at it...I've driven over 100 miles a couple of times to look at a few, only to end up disappointed with folks not being honest as to the condition...Maybe they just have a different definition of rust than I do....I don't begrudge anyone wanting to sell their Jeep for the most they can, but I can't understand the thinking that if they lie about it, once I get there I'll buy it anyway...Sorry..don't mean to rant...Thanks for the feed back..
