Steel for Bumpers

I was considering just fabbing up my own bumper in my school's autoshop class noticing tons of people on here have done it. The only problem I keep running into is I can't find anywhere that has steel I can build a strong bumper out of. I've tried both Lowe's and Home Depot and they don't have anything but sheet metal.

Yep they will know where to get material locally

Yeah, a steel yard shouldn't be too hard to find, and most will have a remenant rack that will have what you need for a lot less money than buying full lengths.
