Default Spray can Bedliner

ok fellas, i have found a leak in the jeep and carpet was muddy anyway. so i have decided to tear out all carpet. Going to replace it with bedliner but i dont know if i should spray can it or roll it on. i am going to prep and clean the floor very well before application. i am looking for reviews on people that have used either the can or roll on. the brand at my local parts store is Herculiner. the roll kit is 99.99 and the spray cans are 10.99. tips and pics if possible

if its going on the floor, roll it on. The spray on stuff works ok for where its not getting touched all the time, like bumpers, and other places where touching it up once in a while is not a big deal. I would figure the floor will lose the spray on stuff pretty quick. I have spray on stuff on my sliders and bumpers and it is alright, but not like the roll on stuff

Spray cans. The roll on stuff doesn't go on in a uniform fashion and tends to dry out and flake apart. The spray cans (depending how good you are with a rattle can) give a thicker, more uniform coat and you can get it into toght spots. Tape stuff off that you don't want covered or hit with overspray.

We did my brother's truck with both and the roll on stuff is in worse condition than what he sprayed.

ya man i did my truck with spray on and if your in a hot place like az it tends to bubble up and peal off. plus roll on looks way better and gives you the cool texture.

ha ha ha maybe i should have done a poll. i am pretty efficient with a rattle can. i painted my entire jeep with it. and well..... i paint just about everything with spray paint. i think i am the only one in my home town that thinks painting a suzuki samurai in walmart parking lot with no tape is not a big deal!!!!!!!!

In my experience with the spray can it comes off it it gets touched much so I would not put that stuff on the floor. Plus your gonna need at least ten cans to get a half decent coat on it but I would bet you'd need more so it will end up costing less with roll on.

X2. Not to mention that little stones and stuff caught in your shoes would scratch it pretty easily. The spray on stuff is tough, but not tough enough for constant contact.

I Herculined the floor on my Cj7 (rolled on) over 12 years ago and I've daily driven it up until last year through hot summers (topless) and nasty Iowa winters.

The verdict: great stuff.

Mine has faded some from the sun and I have no peeling anywhere. Be sure to where some gloves when applying the stuff, it takes awhile to wear off your skin.

I've thought about applying some to the toes of my steel toe work boots to prolong their life some. It seems the tops of the toes always wear out quickly exposing the steel toes. I wonder if my gallon can is still good? Hmmm

I bet you a dollar the quality of product you got 12 yrs ago far exceeds the quality of todays products

I would think so. Use an online coupon if you decide to go to Advanced.....http://www.fatwallet.com/Advance-Auto-Parts-coupons/ I think you can get at least $30 off a $75 order. I just ordered spark plugs and used a coupon for 20% off, I'll pick them up tomorrow.
