Default Spectre Cowl intake questions

Ive been deciding on a snorkel or the cowl intake...looking like the cowl might be the choice.
I had a question which I cant find anywhere...
1. Is the filter easy to get to when you want to change it or do you have to dismantle the whole thing?
2. How does the rain water not get in?

I have a Spectra
1. No its real easy.
2. The Spectra hooks into the left side of the cowl. That side of the cowl the vent slits by the wiper arm are covered so no rain gets in.

I just had a look on my jeep...the black vents under the cover have small rectangle sized holes. On the other side it is sealed?

Yeah the left side slits by the wiper are kinda just fake the right side if you look is open you can see into the cowl.
Use a flashlight and shine it down the vents you will see what I mean

Ok I see what you mean. Where the open holes are a few inches over the water is not going to get sucked in? Is there a drain in there?

Well not rain water, but if you go into water that high you will lol. Ive only gone in water up to the bottom of the headlights and pushed along slow and all went good. Yeah the cowl has drain spots in each corner.

You can reduce how loud it sounds by sanding smooth the sharp corners at the point where the Spectre meets the firewall. Fast air going by sharp corners tends to create a whistling noise...

I did all that,,the whistle chirp you hear at the end when I let off gas is my Jeepers and creepers bored throttle, has a small whistle at one point in throttle. The intake itself is quiet, just when you gas it you can hear it.
