Speaker Bar/Dome Light Wiring??
Alright so I decided I'd take a trip down to Detroit with a friend to check out a giant salvage yard they got over there. The place was great, tons of XJs, and they were extremely CHEAP. I bought my speaker bar without speakers for literally $2, got a gauge cluster to swap in for $15, and a new switch panel for $1.50. I think I found my new place lol.... Anyways to get back on topic, I wired up the speakers and they work just fine. However, I don't know exactly where to wire the rear dome light since my XJ never came with one. Do they already have wires that run back there or would I have to tap into the existing front dome harness?

Yes, there suppose to be there. But if I where you , skip the the sound bar. Mount 6x9's in the rear hatch instead. You can only fit 6 1/2's n the bar. Ran all new wiring, because that way yoiu kwon what you have. Any problems you know where they are. Don't ever trust factory ( only 18 ga.) Or the PO before you.

I added a second dome light, but mine didn't already have the wiring. Here's how I did it:
Clipped the second dome light from the junkyard XJ with all of the wiring... should be about 16", I think. Enough to run up to the front domelight anyways.
De-pinned where the wires go into the front domelight harness. Bit of a pain, but you should be able to get them out without damaging the connector if you have 3 hands, 22 fingers, pliers, and a small screwdriver.
Twisted the wires together from both the front and back domelights, matching the colors.
Snapped the wires back into the connector and plugged in. Now, when the front light goes on, the rear light goes on.

I am guessing Parts Galore on 8 Mile, eh? They do have a great selection, but depending on wht you get they are dirt cheap or way over priced...lol
I got a gas tank skid from them for 5 bucks, hood vents for 2 and rear wiper motor for 4.50 my last time out. Most of the stuff was picked clean (end of September) sounds like they may have gotten more in.
