Default spare tire ?

would it hurt if i got a 33x10.5 spare, i have 33x12.5s on my xj now, but i wanted to just use the stock rim as a spare wheel, i know you shouldnt run a different diameter but does width matter? plus its only a spare so its not like it would be on it all the time, hopefully never

You'll be fine. And diameter is only "crucial" when a locker is installed. An open diff can run a slightly smaller diameter.. think about the temp spares on newer cars.

Shouldn't hurt. I'd suggest putting the narrower one up front tho. Any varience in the rear could cause stress and damage to the gears. And thats in 2wd ( had to throw that in there before a smart*** awnsered back)

Smaller tire for a spare will be fine. If you have a locker you may need to swap around to have it on an unlocked axle. I run 32x 9.50 15s and my spare is 28 inches. If I bust a rear tire I remove a front tire and put my spare on the front and replace the busted rear with the tire I took off the front. I carry a tire plug kit so if it is just a nail, or screw I can repair it without using the spare.
