Hello, I am looking at buying a 2012 Grand Cherokee this week, and it has the factory roof rack rails, but no crossbars. Being The frugal dude that I am, I usually look for used parts. My local Pick-n-Pull does not have any Grand Cherokee newer than the 90s. does anybody know of a source for used GC parts anywhere in the country? Thanks so much for your help. Kyle in Utah

 

PS I have looked through all the parts classifieds on this for them. And have searched eBay and don't see them anywhere. I would think that there would be some number of newer GCs that have wrecked beyond repair and are in a wrecking yard but I sure can't find any in Utah

Thanks everyone for your good helps. I did buy the 2012 Grand Cherokee. It is a very most simple Laredo package they make. (I already had to install a backup camera, since I was really missing it from other vehicles..) I am sure I will be a frequent participant in this forum, and I hope at some point I can help others!

BTW, I ended up with this cross bar package https://www.ebay.com/itm/Yitamotor-C...e/253570592221 I actually bought 2 different racks, this one, and another name brand for 4x the price of this one. I wanted to compare them, and I could see no significant quality differences. The name brand rack seemed to be more flexible in sizing for different vehicles, which didnt matter to me. I may regret "cheaping out" on this if the load blows off onto the freeway and causes an international incident, but I always tie a big load to the front and back bumpers as well, as insurance, so I think I am good. thanks again and hope you all have a wonderful day
