Went to the junkyard yesterday in search of a new fan shroud since my fan decided to butcher my old one. With cash for clunkers over now there's still a ton of Cherokees in the yards. I found my shroud on a 00' Cherokee in near perfect condition. I also found these toys...





Nothing fancy, and it's just for looks, but for $20? I snagged it.





Kinda hard to see, but that's a factory front skid, no before pics of it, but that's after a couple coats of gloss black paint. Got it for $10. And they threw in the fan shroud for free!





And the grill gaurd after a couple coats of primer, and a couple coats of satin black to match the rest of my Jeep's trim. My header and all my gaskets should get here today from FedEx, and of course I have three 12hr shifts over the next three days. so all of these new toys will just have to sit on the porch until I can get them on the XJ on friday. I can't wait!

 

wow. that's a great find and good deal. i will be going to the local JY this weekend. hopefully i strike it rich and leave that place with a lot of goodies.

 

Yeah, i hope you have good luck out there, after cash for clunkers, the junkyards have a nice supply of XJs and ZJs, even the odd MJ here and there. I got my new "junk" installed tonight, sorry for crappy night pics...

Oh, and this came from FedEx today... I can't wait till Saturday!!



Gonna replace the valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket, rear main seal, and rear diff fluid/gasket as well (also came from FedEx today) She'll be a whole different animal. And she'll stop marking her territory in her parking space too...

 

what kind of headers are those.

 

If thats the header sold on ebay forgot the brand my buddy had it and it only lasted 8 months before it cracked

 

Its an ATP Tri-Y manifold. I got it from Rockauto.com. I sure hope it lasts longer than 8 months!
