Anyone running "Solid" Brand Diff covers? most full covers are over $100 and they list the thickness...3/8 or 7/16 cast steel.

Solid has lifetime warranty, and it just says "Thick nodular iron casting with reinforcing ribs"

I have the stock covers. But I know a few of the supporting vendors here sell them at a good price.

 

dan at ruffstuff has a 3/8" cover which is pure beef! he is a vendor here as well

get a welded cover, not a cast cover. better to get a dent that you can bang out than shatter the cover on the trail. so get one from ruffstuff

Can't cast iron crack with hard hits? Seems cheap for dif covers...

 

I'm sure there not the most HD Differential Covers, but for me, I don't do a whole lot of rock crawling so i'm good. I only got them because it was a deal, and might as well change them when I was changing the differential oil.

 

Great cover and your realy can't beat the price. Also great costumer service and even give you all mounting hard ware, bolts, washers, RTV.

i run a rockcrusher on my 44 which is essentially the same thing as a solid cover, just with a different name on it. i have put it through abuse and its still holding strong. it would take a massive hit to crack it...

 

Thanks, yeah for the money, you can't beat them...I think they will hold up to average abuse, def better than the stock ones....if i was racing thru a rock garden, then I might spend some more money....

 

Solid, Rock crusher and a few otheres are all basically the same, just with different names cast in the front.


I personally run an ARB cover.. I can drain my diff (via drain plug). and check the level of my fluid via a dipstick.

And since it is a cast style dif cover with recessed bolts I dont have to worry about denting it in any way

 

They also cost over twice as much as a Solid cover.

 

That's because they say ARB on them
