Interesting color. Are you trying to find others or wanted to know how rare that color is?

this is an interesting thread, they built 2830 XJs with the Freedom package in 01, outa those 10% were painted yellow. They were also built on the same line as the Sport and are tagged as Sport on the VINs. I wonder if some Sports were painted yellow and sent to dealers or sold as special/ltd paint? If only 283 of the Freedom XJs were yellow id say the yellow Sports gotta be pretty low in numbers. Ive never seen one in Canada before.

Those look clean with the crime grill- never knew about the freedom edition.

I don't know how many there are OP but I see quite a few yellow ones around here. Could be aftermarket I suppose. Did they ever come in a different yellow?

Every few weeks I'll see the same one tooling around town here... bone stock with a minor dent in the passenger rear door, otherwise clean and straight. Never seen it parked anywhere where I could potentially ask the owner about it. It is a really great color on an XJ though.

i agree, didnt think chrome would look good on a sport but it does. i didnt know these existed either. im sure theres a few editions weve never heard of. i just saw a "gold edition" for sale recently id like to pick up, was basicly a desert sand XJ with desert sand rims ect.

ive seen more desert sand XJs in Alberta than ive seen anywere in my life lol. makes me wonder if certain colors were offered more in certain areas?

as for the yellow one, did mopar ever get back to you OP?

Default Solar Yellow XJ - Kansas

Hi, Thought I'd go ahead and resurrect an old thread. I've got a 2001 Solar Yellow XJ.

I bought it in 2012 with 88K miles. 134K on it now. I've never seen another yellow one in the Kansas City area or during my travels throughout the Midwest for work or Scouts. Mainly IA, IL, NE, OK, TX, CO.

Did the OP ever get an answer from Mopar on production numbers?

Mike
