Default So many problems at once

My XJ went from literally having no mechanical problems, to having all kinds of issues in less than a week.

-Something between the t-case and the rearend is making a constant whining/squealing/grinding/popping sound.
-Something in the front end is popping like crazy when I slow down
-Gets reeeallyyy close to overheating on longish drives, put another used fan clutch on it and it helped a little, but not much
-Motor AND transmission mounts have took a crap on me (they were bad, but now they are practically metal-metal)
-My airsoft BB tire balancing doesn't seem to be working as well now as it did when I first mounted the tires, shakes like crazy around 55, used to be 70

I'm thinking the ol girl is trying to tell me she wants that v8, t18 4 speed, np205, HP44, 9" that are sitting out in the carport.

Meant to also say that the d30 got all new ball joints, u-joints, and brake pads before it got swapped in place of the CAD d30. I will admit that I went with the cheapest ball joints and u-joints Autozone had to offer, but surely they haven't worn out in less than 6 months

well, haven't test drove it yet, but I think the shaking MIGHT be solved. I guess when doing the "shake" test on the rear driveshaft, I wasn't wiggleing it just right. one of the caps on the rearmost joint had absolutely no needles left in it and the one opposite of it had needles, or should I say chunks, and no grease.

Installed a new joint in each end that I had bought back in April for spares on a road trip.

slow down take a deep breath.. address one at a time..

or just go ***** deep and do the swap youve been thinking of.. f

just remember once the swap is done more problems will follow..

choose your own fate.

Well......

Went and got wife from work in it. Smooth as silk up to 70mph, even with a crappy alignment and BB balanced tires!

Also, apparently the popping that sounded like it was coming from the front was coming from the rear. it no longer pops when slowing down either. Looks like the only issues I have now are the overheating and motor/trans mounts.

I took 2 Nissan patrol scoops and mounted them backwards to let the heat out. Also a new aftermarket radiator , water pump , thermostat and flushed the engine. Sounds like a lot but it did the trick. Hasn't overheated since , even in low range. I am in central Australia and its hot as hell here in summer.

water pump was replaced about 2 months ago, I have a new thermostat for it but haven't installed it yet.

I can't for the life of me get the coolant flushed completely. No matter how many times I flush it and how many times I use the flush chemicals, It still has rust in it.

I'm actually thinking about making a 2.5" cowl hood for it for the purpose of cooling, I'm not a fan of hood vents. To me, a lot of them that I have seen look like A/C registers for a house (and I have actually seen those used...) If I could get my hands on a louver press, I wouldn't mind punching some louvers in it though. For now I think I am going to change the t-stat, get a new grand cherokee fan clutch, get a fan shroud (some moron before me cut the top section out, not sure why, but you can tell it was cut, not broken) and keep trying to flush it. I may throw some washers between the hood and the hinges to raise the back up some to let some of the heat out.

For me the radiator made the biggest difference. The new one was much thicker than stock. I also back flushed the heater core while I was at it. Don't know if it helped the cooling but heater works now.

Found this hood on the side of the road. Should let plenty of heat out. Just sitting on the hood of my parts jeep for now. Looks kinda goofy.
