Default Snorkel question

whats the sense in having it if the electrical can go bad under water?

Some do snorkels for looks, others for the actual cold air intake you get, but the hardcore few who actually do deep water fording, usually they know to water proof the distributor cap and the ECM box, doing that will most likely keep the engine running, not everything can be protected...

But for me its the extra insurance that i wont hydro lock my engine in the event i do go threw some deep water.

x2. I've gone through some deeper water (near windshield) since getting mine but I got it more for the insurance of a raised intake than for regularly dunking my Jeep. There's only so much you can do to protect the electrical componenets, but taking the time to do it can mean the difference between driving out and having to leave it on the trail. For people who don't want/like the snorkel look, but want a raised intake a cowl snorkel is a good investment.
