I have been told that a snorkel blocks a percentage of your view. Is this a true fact?

Use a Cowl mounted one then you have nothing showing at all. If your in water deeper than the top of your hood your in trouble no matter what Snorkel you have mounted. Then there is the fact that tree limbs tend to tear them off at times if you run trails like that.
