What are the benefits? Just being able to fine tune your wheelbase?

From here http://www.liquidironindustries.com/...e=0&featured=Y

"Ordinary shackle setups act as a pivot on a bushing. When an extended shackle is installed for more lift, this pivot action is multiplied. In off camber or cornering situations, this pivot action makes the rear end feel loose and unpredictable. Shackle sliders eliminate the pivot action all together which results in a much tighter, more predictable suspension. They also eliminate bad shackle angles known to cause horrible ride characteristics in XJ rear suspensions. The angle of the slide track produces a smooth, tight, and flexible ride much like that of a 4-link suspension at a fraction of the cost."

I can't believe ANYBODY would use that. Might be fine on a car that you want to make handle better.

But that's gonna limit flex and cause binding.

You sure? It looked alot more like it will let the springs freely flex easier than a shackle that bottoms out.

Timmay has been building them for a while. they actually cause less bind than a conventional shackle and allow more droop and up travel.

alot of guys on pirate4x4 rock em with zero complaints that i have seen.
