Silly Recovery?
Have any of you ever had a silly recovery?
here are pictures of mine. my gf's focus was stuck in the sand..... a couple times..
Good excuse to come up to the lake for the weekend tho. it was suppose to be a girls weekend, so much for that! ended up being a training weekend (triathlons-hint why there is so many bikes). The sand was pretty deep and it was funny to watch trucks get stuck all of the time(specially with trailers). there was a 5 ton with the double tractor tires up front and in the rear going around pulling people out too.

not so much silly, just inconvenient....and we were on the wrong end of the winch. We were taking our stock ZJ up some moderate trails (we were leaving that day anyway). She was doin' really good for being stock, look at the angle of this hill and how close we were to the top! Anyway, for some reason the engine stalled and we burned up the starter trying to get it re-fired (had been having starter issues earlier, but new battery seemed to help). The trail was too steep, narrow, and twisty to just slowly roll down in reverse, but the top was a narrow T-intersection. Had to have 2 jeeps winch us up to the top of the hill, and then one to hold us in place while the other turned us the right direction.
Good thing we trailered it there! Picked up a new starter on the way home, btw. Also the only reason it was stock was because we had only owned it 5 days and wanted to run it thru it's paces to decide whether it was worth sinking any money into for upgrades. Yeah, we'll keep her

got stuck in my driveway one time.......no pics though thank God. (No evidence...read below)
building a new house about 5 years ago. Had a Tundra 4dr 2wd. Driveway was just dirt , not paved yet. We went to check out the progress of the house, I turned around and dipped a tire off a VERY soft shoulder and spun the other deep trying to get it out. We sat there for about 3 extra hours waiting for my FIL to come pull me out.
Word to the wise if you're single or newlywed or even NEARlywed....if it happens stay calm and cool, BUT DON'T LET HER GET OUT OF THE TRUCK!!! It turned ugly quick and there was nowhere to hide (married 12 yrs 2 daughters)

GMC Suburban, lifted on 37's, not geared, not locked,350 auto
International scout, lifted on 33's, geared, not locked, 350 manual
Gmc= Alex Scout= Corey
Alex went down a hill we told him was to much of an angle for his truck, ended up high centering and was STUCK STUCK
Corey " I have chains, I'll yank him out!!!"
Me, and Terry ==== " Bad idea!!, We have winches and straps"
Corey= " Watch I got this"
And heres the video of why using chains is a horrible idea!!!!!!!!
