That ZJ rear seat conversion is slick and useful.

What;s it take to make it happen ?

I too like the "captains chairs" idea instead of the bench in the back..... If that's what you are talking about. I actually REALLY like it. I wanna do it..... tell us how you did it. Not in specific detail cuz I'm sure we can figure it out, but how much modification did it take and did you keep the seats on the brackets and make new mounting places for the ZJ seat brackets?

Reviving the cupholders.
Stainless steel boat cupholders installed in a custom housing made from balsa, foam, cotton and resin. Add Bondo and paint. Direct replacement for the crummy OEM ones that fit over the parking brake.

The plastic piece on the front is a custom switch panel for the power mirrors.

Scale is hard to see but these boat cupholders are HUGE.

More photos in my build thread.

I changed the bolts to a different size after taking this photo.

The little "nubs" on the front look a bit funny but they are comfy to rest your arm on the top of.

This was the standard "ZJ rear seat in an XJ" conversion. There are a lot of write-ups about it. Although, I recently went back to the XJ bench as the ZJ seat cushions weren't fitting as well as I'd like with the placement of the seat backs and after many years I found I've never actually used the split bench functionality.

Seeing how I have tons of extra seat parts am in the process of putting front XJ removable headrests in the rear seat.
Not quite there yet but getting close.

Cool that seems pretty cheap and I don't mean that in a bad way. What do you mainly use the aux battery for?

I recovered my headliner and while I was at it I added LED light bars, one on the ceiling at the rear of the cargo area and two on the tailgate panel. The switches are on each side of the the interior trim panels, one for the cargo area and one for the tailgate.
