I need help I am starting to have engine, tansmission, and transfer case, and some rust problems with my 1990 XJ but the 1972 CJ5 has no problems except for rust on the tub

What are the specs on the 5? My dad's '73 has manual steering and non-power front and rear drum brakes...it is a unique driving experience. But it is a hoot with the 304. We need a little more info...
