Should I run synthetic engine oil?

Engine: 4.0 with all of the noise and clatter
If you change the oil every 3000 mile (waste of time and money), just stick with regular oil. I use good ol' dino squeazins and change it every 6000 miles, give or take a couple thousand miles, no problems.
