Hey everyone with a mid 90's 5 speed. Have you had any problems or large issue maintenance to do on them? I am in the position to get a 94 5 speed and seeing if its worth it or not...

 

I haven't has any issues with mine. They can take a pretty good beating.

 

X2 You have it has an AX15 tranny most likely external slave which is nice too.

 

Very true, considering changing the internal the one on my buddys ranger was the biggest pain in the butt every.

 

I've got a 95 with the ax-15 and the tranny itself has been great (other than not liking reverse..) but I've had some clutch issues- had to replace the master/slave assembly and later the whole clutch around 191,xxx miles. That being said the master/slave was easy to replace cause it is external, it's just expensive.

 

I know you asked for mid 90's - mines a 98, couple years younger. Has the original AX-15 5 speed and original clutch. 176,000 miles and all's well.
