So I had a 2000 Cherokee limited. Some of you may have seen threads I've posted it about it.
Well today I sold her. To a worthy buyer I believe.
So now I'm in the market for another jeep. And I found this.
I am going to see it tomorrow morning. It's a 95 sport with only 91k on it. It say in a garage since 03. He says it needs nothing. How much would you guys pay for this? If its as good as he says it is of course
Wow, everyone here is suggesting more money than I would pay. It sat for 13 years. Things break, seals dry out, etc. Looks like the leaf springs are saggy. Wasn't 95 a transition year?
I would suggest paying a few bucks and getting a vehicle report using the vin or ask to see maintenance records and receipts.
If it literally sat since 03, then I would move along. I'd much rather have a well maintained, well used, and well loved vehicle than one that was ignored for nearly two decades - mileage is meaningless when maintenance comes into play.
So I went this AM to check it out and the body was amazing. Zero rust. The interior was great aswell. It idled great but at 1-2k rpm it had some noise coming from the engine. Sounded very valvey. And it just wasn't something I wanted to take on.
The thing is that knowing it sat, doing the minor things to make it road worthy would be a breeze. I would give that much to take something that is so clean. It is becoming harder and harder to find an un abused XJ to begin with. Remember one thing they stopped making the XJ in 2001 and some day even though so many were made, a clean one will be impossible to find. I would love to have one that is rust free, never abused on the trail. Of course it would become a super nice trail rig, built the with all the things I would like to do before it ever hit a trail. That is why if I was searching for a XJ I'd consider it. But then again a clean 98 XJ with low mileage would be much better platform, but would be hard to come by at a good price.
If that's the 2000 that was recently posted that had low mileage and was so clean stock, leather how much did you sell it for? I would have liked to buy that myself for my grandson for a DD.
