Are Shocks More Important for Ride Quality?
Are shocks more important for good ride quality than the coils and leafs?
Do all coils an leafs ride the same if they are rated to the same lbs?
Basically what I am asking is if the springs are rated to the same lbs, is the only difference between a rough and smooth ride is the quality of the shocks.
If that is the case I will buy Rusty springs and OME or Bilstein Shocks.

Shocks help with ride quality, but their main job is to dampen the movement of the springs. So many things can effect ride quality, shocks are just one part, but play a huge role.

shocks depend on valving if they are soft, then it won't slow the spring down who it's on it's way to bottom out, and even so it won't catch up and keep it from flinging if you back to ride height or further so it will be springy. you also don't want them too hard. In a perfect world the spring should only be used for ride hight. and the shock should take most of the bumps, compression, rebound all come into play.
so YES a good shock will make a big improvement. I had MX-6's on my F150 and they were a good shock, could keep up in small whoops, it wasn't a race truck but I did chase in it.

From experience, I would say SHACKLE ANGLE is priority number 1.
I have RE full leafs/Bilsteins set up and it rode like AZZ till I got that angle dialed in. A shackle relocation kit fixed this perfectly.
I looks to me like if guys run OME, they use all OME parts. With any other kit Bilstens seem the shock of choice.
