Default Selling my '96 ZJ Laredo, what to ask

Too many cars in the driveway.

The title says it. I have a '96 ZJ Laredo 4X4 with the 5.2, the paint is in really good shape, 140,000 miles, starts and runs wonderfully. The only down sides are the few hail dents, it needs a new viscous coupler in the transfer case, and it could use new shocks. I was thinking of asking $2200, is that too much?

I'm just asking for the expert's honest opinions, not posting a classified.

Thanks,
Andy

Start at $3000, take no less than $2500. If you fix the transfercase you can ask for more.

That was my original thought a few months ago, but then someone came up to my door and offered me some horrible price, like less than $1500 because he wanted to scrap it for parts (I only had it parked on the street, no sale sign in the window). When I told him I was thinking of asking $3k he looked at me like I had lobsters hanging off my ears. That was most likely his bargaining trick but it got me wondering if I was overly proud of it.

Thanks!
A

You might be lucky to get $2000 out of it in my area. ZJs are one of the least-demanded Jeeps and you can pick them up dirt cheap anywhere.

Here in NM, they aren't rare, but they don't sit around too long if the asking price is reasonable. No rust is a good thing.
